Margaret brings a rare, selective eye and twenty-five years as an antiques curator, coupled with a lively imagination and innovative ideas, to meet her clients' needs, whether for the home make-over or a single room update.

Margaret Rubino is the champion and pioneer of a garden-oriented decoration sensibility, bringing color, light, texture -- and furnishings -- from the outdoors in, while at the same time extending the home by creating a well-furnished and beautiful garden.

The trend-setting Rooms+Gardens boutiques in New York and Washington offered an eclectic and unparalleled assortment of French, Italian, Spanish and American garden antiques. House&Garden magazine celebrated the way Margaret Rubino incorporated metal garden furniture, stone-topped bistro tables, and drapers tables in her interior décor. Her SoHo stores were go-to sources for many of the world's leading interior decorators and architects. Metropolitan Home magazine called Margaret Rubino's Rooms+Gardens "a mecca of style."  The Washington Post Magazine's Spring Design Issue has featured Rubino’s “knack for outside-inside design.” A client is quoted saying, “She has an intuitive flair for the unusual […] I trust her implicitly. We always do what she tells us to do – and it always works.” (Washington Post Magazine April 2003).  Her approach to both interior and garden design remains evolved, quirky, mostly informal, with extensive use of original art.

Margaret Rubino frequently collaborates with her husband and artist Sal Fiorito, a sculptor of site-specific architectural sculpture who studied in England. He has turned his efforts now from boutiques and restaurants, to the home, designing furniture, kitchens, hardscaping and outdoor lighting for Rooms+Gardens.  A passionate oenophile, Sal Fiorito both advises the wine collector, and designs the home wine cellar for Rooms+Gardens projects.

Margaret Rubino's Rooms+Gardens has been featured in House & Garden, Metropolitan Home, The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine and Architectural Digest.
